Simply Nate

As year-round Rockland residents, we value our community. Our neighborhoods are walkable and friendly, town services and cultural events are offered all year long and health care is nearby. Are there issues to address? The consensus is a resounding yes! Which is exactly why we support Nate Davis for City Councilor.

The lack of affordable housing and the high property taxes are two key issues which impact daily life.

Job candidates who might be hired for schools, hospitals or businesses can’t find a place to live due to scant availability and/or high rents.  Property taxes burden those on fixed incomes or families with children. Displaced individuals become homeless and hopeless.

Nate who has already served on City Council understands the consequences of these problems and is ready to address them: revising zoning regulations to encourage additional rentals and outreach to developers to encourage multi-unit buildings for starters—none of this at the expense of safety.

Nate understands that these solutions require collaboration, and he has the temperament to work with other councilors to effect change.

Encouraging business development along appropriate areas can supplement our tax base.

Providing incentives to residents  to winterize their homes can ease the impact of high heating costs. Years ago he participated in an initiative called Winterize Rockland and has seen the benefits firsthand. He understands there is much more work to be done.

In our view, we need a councilor who has demonstrated his commitment to our community and is energized to continue.

Nate listens to constituents and engages in thoughtful dialog. He collaborated with a small group to establish the Steel House—a valued resource to the community—and until the recent past dedicated countless hours as our city councilor. Rockland needs a council person with his vision. We urge you to vote for Nate on November 7.
