Rockland will be well served if Adam Ackor is elected

Sat, 10/14/2023 - 11:45am
Although I have never been a resident of Rockland, I have great affection for the Lime City. During my pre-retirement years I was known to publicly state on many occasions, tongue-in-cheek, that I live in Rockland but I sleep in Owls Head.

In the upcoming November election there are four candidates for City Council. I personally know the three who have already served on Council, having worked with them in my former role as executive director of Rockland's quasi-municipal downtown revitalization program. I respect and trust two of them.

I write today to endorse one.

Adam Ackor has always demonstrated an ability to deal with city issues in a pragmatic manner, without preconceived opinions, and without personal agenda. In addition to having served a few years ago as an elected member of City Council, he has been employed by the City as a department head. In his previous capacity as Rockland's Code Enforcement Officer, Adam was able to acquire  a unique perspective on how City business works, and how it doesn't.

He also possesses practical experience of owning and operating his own small business, providing jobs and opportunities for others.

Adam is one who will do his homework to objectively explore solutions to problems. He will express his opinions without lecturing, and will cast his votes without pedantic commentary.

It is always a benefit to the voters when there are more candidates than available seats, providing multiple choices and a true competitive race .

The taxpayers of Rockland will be well served if Adam Ackor is elected.
