Saxe-Cobaugh to join Riley School

Mon, 10/16/2023 - 11:30am

The Riley School is pleased to have welcomed Caroline Saxe-Cobaugh to the Board of Trustees.  Caroline's passion for independent school education and her diverse non-profit experience make her a valuable addition to our team. During her first visit to the Riley campus, she recognized the unique blend of student-centered curriculum, social-emotional learning, and commitment to nature and the outdoors that sets Riley apart as a model of progressive education.

Caroline's interest in independent school education began at Pomfret School, where she also developed her love for classical vocal music and musical theatre. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Politics and Government with a minor in Vocal Performance from Sacred Heart University. Caroline has worked for a variety of non-profit organizations, including museums, advocacy groups, and arts organizations. She has also served as a workshop programmer and a certified Yoga instructor at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.

In addition to her role on the Board, Caroline will also be teaching music and singing to our youngest children. With her extensive experience in musical theater and having enrolled her own son at Riley, we welcome the wealth of knowledge and expertise Caroline brings to  the school community.

Caroline joins a Board composed of  experienced long time supporters, Whitney and Tony Oppersdorff,  as well as past parent Penny York, and alumni and current parents William Kinnane and Sarah Wilson Merlo. We look forward to working with Caroline as we continue to provide a dynamic and innovative education for our children.
