ROCKLAND — Friends of South School announces its inaugural Winter Maker's Market, a festive celebration of local craftsmanship and artistry. The event aims to highlight and promote handcrafted goods, featuring a diverse array of creations from talented local artisans.

The Winter Maker’s Market will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at South School, 30 Broadway St., Rockland, Maine, 04841. The entrance to the market is through the gym, where attendees will discover a vibrant gallery of creativity and craftsmanship, according to Friends, in a news release.

“From intricate jewelry to blown glass, the Winter Maker's Market promises a unique experience filled with one-of-a-kind treasures,” said Friends. “Attendees will have the opportunity to explore and purchase exceptional pieces while supporting the vibrant artistic community in Rockland.”

Artisans are encouraged to showcase their mastery and skilled craftsmanship through live art demonstrations.

“This interactive element adds an exciting dimension to the Winter Maker's Market, allowing attendees to witness the creation process firsthand and engage with the artists behind the remarkable pieces on display,”  said Friends.

"The Winter Maker's Market is such a unique experience to connect with the artists, learn about their techniques, and appreciate the dedication that goes into crafting each unique piece."
