Anne Cox exhibits ‘Glimpsed’ at Craignair Gallery

SPRUCE HEAD — The Craignair Gallery invites the public to the Opening Reception of “Glimpsed” by Martinsville artist Anne Cox on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. Live entertainment by pianist Carlie Cooney and complementary refreshments enhance this special event, according to The Craignair Gallery, in a news release.

Trained as a landscape designer and co-owner of Hedgerow Market and Gallery, Cox turned her attention to designing and hooking rugs as works of fine art. More recently, the artist took up oil painting, often depicting the intimate details of her environment such as the shadows on a window frame, potting plants stacked in a corner, and freshly picked apples in a basket.

Glimpsed is an exhibition that invites viewers share the artist’s glimpses of her daily life, and is on exhibit through the month of December.

The Craignair Gallery, located at 5 Third Street in Spruce Head, is open daily.
