On the morning of November 1 of 2023, Candice Etta Moore (age 59) passed away at Pen Bay Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones, after a short but brutal battle with stomach cancer.

She was a valued member of the community, having been involved in the Stockton Springs Fire Department since the age of 12, and serving several years as the town’s recreation director. She spent the last few years working in the kitchen at Searsport Elementary School. Candy enjoyed and owned many animals throughout the years and found no greater joy than to be with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her Moore family, Alison Moore, Colin Moore, Gretchen (Moore) and Daniel Peaco, Eric Moore; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and long time friend Belinda Brewer.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister-in-law, Gail (Krienke) Sanborn.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 18, at 12 o’clock, at the Searsport District High School in the cafeteria. Please bring a favorite dish or dessert to share along with a memory of Candy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Stockton Springs Fire Department’s new firehouse fund, 217 Main St, Stockton Springs; or What’s One Moore Animal Rescue, 29 Partridge Lane, Stockton Springs.
