ZEPHYRHILLS, Florida — Richard A. Tibbetts passed away at the age of 73 on October 1, 2023, in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born on January 27, 1950. He attended Searsport High School. Many knew him as “Tibs”.

We knew and loved him as “Dad”. He was a proud father of two who lived in Searsport, Maine for most of his life until he moved to sunny Florida in his retirement years to be closer to his brother, Danny.

Tibs loved to make people laugh. He was a total flirt, loved good food, and fast cars. He enjoyed traveling and liked trying new things. He made friends everywhere he went. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. Good or bad, you always knew where you stood with him. He lived life the way he wanted to and had fun doing it.

Richard is survived by his devoted son, Robert A. Tibbetts and wife Daniella Araujo; loving daughter, Toni Reed and boyfriend Craig Knowles; and his four grandchildren Courtney, Kelsey, Matt, and Joshua.

He was preceded by his parents and both brothers, Danny and Harold.

He deeply loved us kids unconditionally and we loved him back the same exact way.
