30th Annual Winterberry Fair returns to Union Dec. 2

UNION — The People’s United Methodist Church in Union will be hosting the annual Winterberry Fair on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Fair will be offering a variety of items for sale.

As always, there will be bunches of winterberries ready for your holiday decorating. The baked goods tables will feature homemade delights: cookies, bars, pie, Finnish bread, yeast breads and rolls, fruit breads, candies, jellies and preserves.

Crafters have been busy filling the craft tables with hand-made items for wearing, home decorating and suitable for gifting.

“Christmas Corner” will feature gently used decorations and book lovers can browse a room full of used books in good condition for children and adults, DVD’s, puzzles and games.

Everyone attending the Fair receives a free ticket to enter the Door Prize Drawing for a chance to win one of the items donated by local merchants

Last of all, The People’s Café will be offering delicious breakfast and brunch items, as well as hot coffee and tea. Food can be purchased to enjoy in the dining space or to take home.

“We hope you will plan to visit the Fair, get some great things at reasonable prices, and enjoy the festive atmosphere,” said PUMC, in a news release. “The Fair volunteers will always greet you with a smile!”

Organizers are prepared to accept cash and checks for items, and this year they will be able to accept credit or debit cards.

The Church is located at 21 Depot Street (Route 235), just behind the post office on the Common and there is plenty of off-street parking available.
