ROCKPORT — Steve Bowler has stepped into the role of executive director at Penobscot Shores after serving for nearly eight years as the senior living community’s director of sales and marketing. Bowler officially assumed the role in September.

“Steve has been extremely successful at Penobscot Shores for many years, working with residents, prospects and the general community,” said Loriman Looke, senior executive director of senior living services for Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital, in a news release. “His knowledge of Penobscot Shores and its residents, along with his energy and quick smile, make him a natural fit for the executive director position. I’m thrilled to have him leading the Penobscot Shores community.”

Before joining the team at Penobscot Shores, Bowler worked 11 years as marketing director at Dirigo Pines, a senior living facility in Orono. Prior to that he spent 17 years as the vice president of public relations and development at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle.

Bowler said he’s excited to continue working with both the staff and residents at Penobscot Shores, and gave praise to outgoing executive director Mary Sargent for her support and organization behind the scenes as he stepped into the role.
