ROCKLAND — Andrue Leach, 30, was born on May 7, 1993, and passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2023.

He grew up and attended school in the Rockland area. School did not come easy for Andrue, but he graduated from Oceanside High School in 2013 and later Job Corp in Bangor in 2014.

After returning to the Rockland area, he began working at Fisher Engineering. There, Andrue fit right in and was incredibly proud of not only his job but the life he had made.

His infectious personality was what Andrue was most well known for. No matter if you knew him for 30 minutes or 30 years, it made no difference to him. You’d be given a big grin and a hug and instantly feel welcomed into his circle. He was the type of person who always had a squad of friends around but would still get excited to make new friends everywhere he went.

Andrue had many passions in life, from gaming to anime to his love for reptiles. But one of his favorite things was music and dancing. He could often be found on Main Street in Rockland with his headphones on, just dancing and spinning either his staff or Poi Balls. He’d be in his own world, putting on a show for all those who passed. At the anime conventions, which he attended for many years, he was often called up to the stage to dance while spinning his staff during the electronic dance party. Andrue’s dancing and enthusiastic personality would quite literally light up any event he attended.

Andrue leaves behind a large group of family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Holli Jewell and her husband Sean Jewell; his father, Micheal Sprowl; and his siblings, including Mathue Sprowl, Alyssa Jewell, Sean Austin Jewell, Gregory Sprowl, Johnathan Aston, Lexxa Sprowl, and Kristina Ott; his grandparents Louis and Gloria Leach; aunts and uncles, Pam and Tim Dodge, Louis Jr. and Heather Leach, John Sprowl, Sally Wilcox; as well as many cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his cousin TJ Dodge.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, November 17, 2023, from 2 to 3 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a celebration of life will be held immediately following at 3 p.m. An Andrue inspired ‘after party’ will be held at 5 p.m., at 31 New County Road, Rockland.
