THOMASTON — Faith (Harrington) Jones, 82, passed away at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, after a brief illness on November 4, 2023.

Faith was born on March 2, 1941, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, and adopted two months later by noted musicians Edna (Merritt) and Howard Harrington, who raised her and her brother in Boston, Massachusetts, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Detroit and Grosse Pointe, Michigan.

Faith graduated in 1958 from Bloomfield Country Day School in Beverly Hills, Michigan, where she was Vice President of her class. She then attended Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Wayne State University, Michigan, where she studied Elementary Education.

While both were working in Woods Hole, Massachusetts in 1968, Faith met her future husband, John ‘Fred’ Jones. They married on May 3, 1969, and raised two wonderful children in Thomaston. Faith worked numerous jobs as an office manager in the Midcoast, namely the University of Maine at Augusta site in Thomaston. She was a talented cake decorator and sewer.

Faith is survived by her husband of 54 years, Fred Jones of Thomaston; children, Christopher Jones and wife Evelyn of Nashville, Tennessee, Meredith Burgess and husband Matthew of Lincolnville; brother J. Brooke Harrington and wife Judith of Cushing; and grandchildren, Sierra Jones and Hannah Jones of Nashville, Tennessee, and Chloe Burgess and Sage Burgess of Lincolnville.

The family will share plans for a Celebration of Life ceremony at a future date. Faith will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who shared in her love and grace. May she rest in eternal peace.
