CUSHING — A 19-year-old Cushing man was arrested Nov. 10 for allegedly pointing a gun while threatening two women.

Ethan Jones was arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and charged with domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence assault, assault, and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Jones made his initial court appearance Nov. 13 before Judge Sarah Gilbert who set bail at $500 cash, with no third-party bail allowed. He will be on supervised release and cannot have any contact with the victims, must abstain from alcohol and drugs, not possess any dangerous weapons, and will be subject to random searches by police.

According to the affidavit filed in court by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Cushing home Nov. 10 of a domestic dispute involving a gun.

The two female victims told police that Jones had pushed them down on a couch and allegedly pointed a gun at them and yelled at them to leave the residence. He then decided to put the gun away, according to the police report.

Jones denied bringing out the gun and said that he just wanted the women to leave the residence, police said.

He will appear in court again Jan. 11, 2024, for a dispositional conference.
