Maine State Economist Amanda Rector to Address Camden Rotary Club

Maine State Economist Amanda Rector will speak at the Camden Rotary Club luncheon meeting on Tuesday, November 21. 

Rector conducts ongoing analysis of Maine's economic and demographic conditions to help inform policy decisions. Her talk will include an overview of recent demographic and economic trends in Maine, focusing on the Midcoast. Topics will include migration, diversity of the population, labor force and employment, wages, and inflation.

Rector started working for the State in 2004 and has been State Economist since 2011. She is a State of Maine's Revenue Forecasting Committee member and serves as the Governor's liaison to the U. S. Census Bureau. She earned a BA in economics from Wellesley College and a master's in public policy and management from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine. Originally from Camden, she now lives in Union with her family.

Camden Rotary Club has served the community since 1925, raising funds to help local nonprofit organizations in Knox County and Lincolnville through an annual grants program, distributing educational scholarships, presenting its annual Music by the Sea Celebration every 4th of July, and providing volunteers for local service projects. The club meets at noon each Tuesday at the First Congregational Church, Camden, at 55 Elm Street. Visitors are welcome.
