Penobscot Bay Ringers presents holiday handbell concert in Searsport

SEARSPORT — Penobscot Bay Ringers, Midcoast Maine’s community handbell choir, will present a ‘Holiday Handbells’ concert on Sunday, Dec. 3, from 3 to 4 p.m., at the Searsport First Congregational Church, 8 Church Street, Searsport.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature a variety of familiar holiday carols and pieces that highlight the diversity of handbells. One piece includes cello accompaniment performed by Kay Allan, of Thomaston. In addition to music presented by the full, five-octave choir, there will be several solo and ensemble performances by members of Penobscot Bay Ringers.

The concert is presented free of charge, with donations accepted at the door. All donations support the church’s concert series as well as church and community music programs. For more information about Searsport First Congregational Church, visit searsportfcc.org or call 207-548-0327.
