I find historical reports of “wildmen” and “gorillas” very interesting, especially when they bear the hallmarks of contemporary Bigfoot encounters. One of the earliest accounts, circa 1825, tells of the discovery of a huge humanoid skeleton (An Historical Sketch of Deer Isle, Maine by George L. Hosmer):

Purportedly, the three Massachusetts colonists observed a startling, immense flying light in the sky near Muddy River.

French fur traders and woodsmen brought their traditions and lore with them to North America. One such belief is the French werewolf, the loup-garou. There was the belief that a sinful life caused one to be transformed into a black bear or a dog. 

The Waldo’s monthly Free Family Film for October is An American Tail by Steven Spielberg. An American Tail is a 1986 American animated musical adventure film by Steven Spielberg. It is the story of Fievel Mousekewitz and his family as they emigrate from Russia to the United States for freedom. However, he gets lost and must find a way to reunite with them.

His first mission, STS-126, took place in November 2008, and his second was STS-132 in May 2010.

The first European reports of the Abominable Snowman or yeti (as the Sherpas called it) came from the 1921 British Mount Everest reconnaissance expedition led by Charles Howard-Bury. The climbing team set off to explore how it might be possible to get to the vicinity of Mount Everest, find possible routes for ascending the mountain, and – if possible – make the first ascent of the highest mountain in the world.
